Cooling Chillers

The market for cooling equipment is very dynamic. Rising commodity prices, industry consolidation, and financial pressure to reduce operating costs are some of the contributing factors. Further, these factors affect every sector of the industry, including manufacturers, distributors, contractors, building owners, and consumers.

Most commercial buildings rely on chillers for air conditioning. In recent years, however, chiller technology has been challenged by the phasing out of standard chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) refrigerants. Manufacturers have been forced to redesign also presents opportunities to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, comfort, indoor air quality, and humidity control.

The result is that people are considering new approaches to cooling. These include cool storage, evaporative cooling, and desiccant evaporative cooling. These technologies are feasible in commercial building across the United States.
